Year 12 – surprises when studying the Nazis

We have spent the last few lessons getting into a study of how and why the Nazis persecuted the Jews. Most of you know the outline facts from GCSE, but we are trying to examine events in detail. Your responses are required to the following (long-winded!) question:-

Does the fact that both the one-day boycott and the Nuremberg Laws were at least partly motivated from below (ordinary Nazis) rather than the government’s own decisions make the persecution more serious or less serious, in your opinion? Explain.

Year 11 mock revision. What was the most important cause of the Second World War?

We have just revised the reasons why international peace collapsed in 1939. To achieve the highest grades candidates should be able to argue why one cause is more important than the others. When doing this they should try to make links between causes. So, which cause do you think was the most important in causing the Second World War?

Year 11 mock revision. ‘The most important reason why Hitler became Chancellor in 1933 was the economic depression’. How far do you agree with this statement.

Year 10 – Why did the League of Nations fail?

Mr. Cantrill making his first appearance! My class have now finished investigating why, after so much promise, the League of Nations failed. We have an assessment coming up on the League. Is it always useful to share ideas and as such I would like people in my class to explain which reason they think was the most important in the League failing.
